Earthquake alertnow
M4.8 earthquake near your area.
Test alertyesterday
This is how an earthquake alert will sound. This is only a test.
How an alert arrives
A 16-second dramatization: the alert arrives, someone takes cover under a sturdy table, the shaking comes, and the app asks “Are you OK?”.
Happened 4 s ago
Yellow. You know it at once.
It arrives as an urgent notification. Open it and the alert fills the screen with the magnitude and how long ago it happened.
One picture tells you what to do.
The safety position, drawn to be understood at a glance. The same picture in the alert, in the test and when you start.
Quibdó area
If we detect that your receptor stops working, we tell you.
You know which receptor covers you.
Your area, in plain sight. If we detect that your receptor stopped working, we tell you, and again when it is back.
Late alert
The earthquake happened 2 min ago
If it arrives late, it says so.
Every alert shows when the quake happened and when it reached you. No spin.
We start in Colombia. Is your area not covered? Ask for it from the app.

Canarito does not detect earthquakes: in each covered area, a receptor set up for that area receives earthquake alerts and we forward them to the iPhones in that area. Independent service, not official; it does not replace alerts or instructions from the authorities. Alerts can arrive late, not arrive, or arrive with no earthquake, and there are alerts only where a receptor covers you. The video is a dramatization.
Privacy: Canarito uses your location to know which receptor covers you. At most an area of about 11 km reaches our server, not your exact location.
